RESUMO

Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC), a rare malignancy, typically originates in salivary glands and is rarely found in other locations. In this case report, we describe a 54-year-old male patient who was presented to the Urology Department of Yantai Yuhuangding hospital with right-sided waist pain. The patient underwent percutaneous ultrasound-guided biopsies of lesions in the kidney and lung, which were histologically confirmed as primary adenoid cystic carcinoma of the lung and metastatic renal adenoid cystic carcinoma, respectively. Given the presence of multiple metastases, the patient received systemic palliative chemotherapy, which was well-tolerated and effectively controlled the tumor. At the last follow-up, there was no evidence of tumor progression in the patient.

RESUMO

80% of renal carcinomas (RC) are diagnosed incidentally by imaging. 2-4% of "sporadic" multifocality and 5-8% of hereditary syndromes are accepted, probably with underestimation. Multifocality, young age, familiar history, syndromic data, and certain histologies lead to suspicion of hereditary syndrome. Each tumor must be studied individually, with a multidisciplinary evaluation of the patient. Nephron-sparing therapeutic strategies and a radioprotective diagnostic approach are recommended. Relevant data for the radiologist in major RC hereditary syndromes are presented: von-Hippel-Lindau, Chromosome-3 translocation, BRCA-associated protein-1 mutation, RC associated with succinate dehydrogenase deficiency, PTEN, hereditary papillary RC, Papillary thyroid cancer- Papillary RC, Hereditary leiomyomatosis and RC, Birt-Hogg-Dubé, Tuberous sclerosis complex, Lynch, Xp11.2 translocation/TFE3 fusion, Sickle cell trait, DICER1 mutation, Hereditary hyperparathyroidism and jaw tumor, as well as the main syndromes of Wilms tumor predisposition. The concept of "non-hereditary" familial RC and other malignant and benign entities that can present as multiple renal lesions are discussed.

PURPOSE: This study aimed to develop and validate an ultrasound (US)-based nomogram for the preoperative differentiation of renal urothelial carcinoma (rUC) from central renal cell carcinoma (c-RCC). METHODS: Clinical data and US images of 655 patients with 655 histologically confirmed malignant renal tumors (521 c-RCCs and 134 rUCs) were collected and divided into training (n = 455) and validation (n = 200) cohorts according to examination dates. Conventional US and contrast-enhanced US (CEUS) tumor features were analyzed to determine those that could discriminate rUC from c-RCC. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression was applied to screen clinical and US features for the differentiation of rUC from c-RCC. Using multivariate logistic regression analysis, a diagnostic model of rUC was constructed and visualized as a nomogram. The diagnostic model's performance was assessed in the training and validation cohorts by calculating the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and calibration plot. Decision curve analysis (DCA) was used to assess the clinical usefulness of the US-based nomogram. RESULTS: Seven features of both clinical features and ultrasound imaging were selected to build the diagnostic model. The nomogram achieved favorable discrimination in the training (AUC = 0.996, 95% CI: 0.993-0.999) and validation (AUC = 0.995, 95% CI: 0.974, 1.000) cohorts, and good calibration (Brier scores: 0.019 and 0.016, respectively). DCA demonstrated the clinical usefulness of the US-based nomogram. CONCLUSION: A noninvasive clinical and US-based nomogram combining conventional US and CEUS features possesses good predictive value for differentiating rUC from c-RCC.

RESUMO

Bilateral Wilms tumour (BWT) is a surgically challenging condition. Virtual reality (VR) reconstruction aids surgeons to foresee the anatomy ahead of Nephron Sparing Surgery (NSS). Three-dimensional (3D) visualisation improves the anatomical orientation of surgeons performing NSS. We herewith report a case of BWT where VR planning and 3D printing were used to aid NSS. Conventional imaging is often found to be inadequate while assessing the tumour-organ-vascular anatomy. Advances like VR and 3D printing help surgeons plan better for complex surgeries like bilateral NSS. Next-generation extended reality tools will likely aid robotic-assisted precision NSS and improve patient outcomes.

ABSTRACT: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a leading cause of mortality among genitourinary malignancies with limited therapeutic options. The hematogenous route, lymphatic spread, and direct invasion have been documented in RCC. Usually, metastases are regional lymph nodes, lungs, bone, liver, adrenal glands, contralateral kidney, and brain. Metastases to the rare sites such as skin, breast, head and neck were documented in the literature. In the present case, we describe the synchronous metastases to the base of the tongue and thyroid gland in RCC and the response to sunitinib therapy on 18F-FDG PET/CT.

INTRODUCTION: Partial nephrectomy (PN) aims to remove renal tumors while preserving renal function without affecting oncological and perioperative surgical outcomes. Aim of this paper is to summarize the current evidence on PN and to provide evidence-based recommendations on indications, surgical technique, perioperative management and postoperative surveillance of PN for renal tumors in the Italian clinical and health care system context. EVIDENCE ACQUISITION: This review is the result of an interactive peer-reviewing process of the recent literature on PN for renal tumors carried out by an expert panel composed of members of the Italian Society of Urology (SIU) Renal Cell Carcinoma Working Group. EVIDENCE SYNTHESIS: PN for localized renal tumors is not inferior to radical nephrectomy in terms of survival outcomes while significantly better preserving renal function. Loss of renal function after PN is influenced by medical comorbidities/preoperative renal function and surgical variables such volume of parenchyma preserved and ischemia time. Urologists should select the clamping strategy during PN based on their experience and patient-specific factors. PN can be performed with any surgical approach based on surgeon's expertise and skills. Robotic PN has the potential to expand the minimally invasive indications without interfering with oncological outcomes. The use of 3D virtual models, real time ultrasound and fluorescence tools to assess the anatomy and vascularization of renal tumors during PN may allow a more accurate preoperative planning and intraoperative guidance. Proper postoperative surveillance protocols are essential to detect tumor recurrences and assess functional outcomes. CONCLUSIONS: PN is the standard of care for treatment of localized T1 renal tumors. Recent data supports PN also for selected T2-T3a tumors in experienced institutions. Careful preoperative planning, adequate surgical skills and volumes and appropriate postoperative management and surveillance are paramount to optimize PN oncological and functional outcomes.

INTRODUCTION: Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most lethal subtype of renal cell carcinoma with a high invasive potential. Radiomics has attracted much attention in predicting the preoperative T-staging and nuclear grade of ccRCC. OBJECTIVE: The objective was to evaluate the efficacy of dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) radiomics in predicting ccRCC grade and T-stage while optimizing the models. METHODS: 200 ccRCC patients underwent preoperative DECT scanning and were randomized into training and validation cohorts. Radiomics models based on 70 KeV, 100 KeV, 150 KeV, iodine-based material decomposition images (IMDI), virtual noncontrasted images (VNC), mixed energy images (MEI) and MEI + IMDI were established for grading and T-staging. Receiver operating characteristic analysis and decision curve analysis (DCA) were performed. The area under the curve (AUC) values were compared using Delong test. RESULTS: For grading, the AUC values of these models ranged from 0.64 to 0.97 during training and from 0.54 to 0.72 during validation. In the validation cohort, the performance of MEI + IMDI model was optimal, with an AUC of 0.72, sensitivity of 0.71, and specificity of 0.70. The AUC value for the 70 KeV model was higher than those for the 100 KeV, 150 KeV, and MEI models. For T-staging, these models achieved AUC values of 0.83 to 1.00 in training and 0.59 to 0.82 in validation. The validation cohort demonstrated AUCs of 0.82 and 0.70, sensitivities of 0.71 and 0.71, and specificities of 0.80 and 0.60 for the MEI + IMDI and IMDI models, respectively. In terms of grading and T-staging, the MEI + IMDI model had the highest AUC in validation, with IMDI coming in second. There were statistically significant differences between the MEI + IMDI model and the 70 KeV, 100 KeV, 150 KeV, MEI, and VNC models in terms of grading (P < .05) and staging (P ≤ .001). DCA showed that both MEI + IDMI and IDMI models outperformed other models in predicting grade and stage of ccRCC. CONCLUSIONS: DECT radiomics models were helpful in grading and T-staging of ccRCC. The combined model of MEI + IMDI achieved favorable results.

PURPOSE: To assess the effectiveness of a deep learning model using contrastenhanced ultrasound (CEUS) images in distinguishing between low-grade (grade I and II) and high-grade (grade III and IV) clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). METHODS: A retrospective study was conducted using CEUS images of 177 Fuhrmangraded ccRCCs (93 low-grade and 84 high-grade) from May 2017 to December 2020. A total of 6412 CEUS images were captured from the videos and normalized for subsequent analysis. A deep learning model using the RepVGG architecture was proposed to differentiate between low-grade and high-grade ccRCC. The model's performance was evaluated based on sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). Class activation mapping (CAM) was used to visualize the specific areas that contribute to the model's predictions. RESULTS: For discriminating high-grade ccRCC from low-grade, the deep learning model achieved a sensitivity of 74.8%, specificity of 79.1%, accuracy of 77.0%, and an AUC of 0.852 in the test set. CONCLUSION: The deep learning model based on CEUS images can accurately differentiate between low-grade and high-grade ccRCC in a non-invasive manner.

Introducción Los tumores renales son un desafío para los profesionales de la salud debido a su creciente prevalencia y complejidad de manejo. El estudio investiga la utilidad de los sistemas de nefrometría renal R.E.N.A.L. score y Padua en la predicción de complicaciones de la crioablación percutánea (CA). Material y métodos El estudio analiza de forma prospectiva a 90 pacientes con carcinoma de células renales (CCR) estadio T1a tratados con crioablación, totalizando 101 tumores. Resultados Se estudiaron 90 pacientes con 101 tumores renales de pequeño tamaño que recibieron terapia crioablativa. Los pacientes tenían una edad media de 68 años y mayoría eran hombres (74,4%). La mayoría de los tumores eran menores a 4 cm (89,1%) y la puntuación media del Padua y R.E.N.A.L. scores fue de 8,65 y 7,35, respectivamente. Se observaron complicaciones en 12 casos. El PADUA y R.E.N.A.L. scores demostraron un poder predictivo moderado (área bajo la curva [AUC] = 0,58 y AUC = 0,63, respectivamente) para las complicaciones poscrioablación. Conclusiones La CA es un tratamiento seguro y efectivo para los tumores renales de pequeño tamaño. Los sistemas de nefrometría renal R.E.N.A.L. y Padua scores tienen un poder predictivo moderado para las complicaciones asociadas a la CA de tumores renales. (AU)


Introduction Due to their increasing prevalence and complex management, renal tumors are challenging for health professionals. The study aims to evaluate the usefulness of R.E.N.A.L. and PADUA nephrometry scores in the prediction of complications after percutaneous cryoablation. Material and methods The study prospectively analyzed 90 patients with 101 stage T1a renal cell carcinoma (RCC) tumors treated with cryoablation. Results Ninety patients with 101 small renal tumors who received cryoablative therapy were investigated. The mean age of the patients was 68 years and 74.4% were male. Most tumors were smaller than 4 cm (89.1%) and the mean PADUA and R.E.N.A.L. scores were 8.65 and 7.35, respectively. Complications were observed in 12 cases. PADUA and R.E.N.A.L. scores demonstrated moderate predictive power (AUC = 0.58 and AUC = 0.63, respectively) for post-cryoablation complications. Conclusions Percutaneous cryoablation is a safe and effective treatment for small renal tumors. The R.E.N.A.L. and PADUA renal nephrometry scores have moderate predictive power for complications associated with percutaneous cryoablation of renal tumors. (AU)

OBJECTIVE: This study aims to analyze the characteristics of high frame rate contrast-enhanced ultrasound (H-CEUS) in renal lesions and to improve the ability for differential diagnosis of renal tumors. METHODS: A total of 140 patients with renal lesions underwent contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) examination in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from July 2022 to July 2023. Based on the tumor pathology and the results of enhanced CT, tumor patients were divided into malignant and benign groups. All subjects were examined using gray-scale ultrasound, conventional contrast-enhanced ultrasound (C-CEUS), and H-CEUS, and their dynamic images were recorded. Two radiologists independently analyzed and recorded the results of ultrasound, C-CEUS, and H-CEUS images and statistically analyzed the features of C-CEUS and H-CEUS images. The independent sample t-test was used to compare the difference in age and maximum diameter of nodules between the benign and malignant groups. The χ2 test was used to compare the sex, mode of operation, gray-scale ultrasound characteristics, and enhancement characteristics of the two CEUS modes (enhancement mode, regression mode, enhancement degree, enhancement uniformity, enhancement or not, enhancement direction, post-enhancement boundary and range, and pseudocapsule) between the benign and malignant groups. The difference in vascular morphology of malignant nodules of varying sizes under two angiographic modes. RESULTS: There were significant differences in gender (χ2 = 10.408, P = 0.001), mode of operation (χ2 = 47.089, P < 0.001), nodule composition (χ2 = 7.481, P = 0.003), nodule echo (χ2 = 20.926, P < 0.001), necrosis (χ2 = 31.343, P < 0.001) and nodule blood flow (χ2 = 9.006, P = 0.029) between the benign and malignant groups. There were significant differences in the regression model (χ2 = 6.782, P = 0.034) and enhancement direction (χ2 = 13.771, P = 0.001) between the two radiographic techniques in the malignant group. There was a significant difference in the enhancement uniformity between the two CEUS techniques in the benign group (χ2 = 8.264, P = 0.004). There was a significant difference between the two CEUS techniques in displaying the vascular morphology in the malignant group with the maximum diameter of nodules ≤ 4.0 cm (χ2 = 11.421, P < 0.022). However, there was no significant difference between the two techniques in the malignant group with the maximum diameter of nodules > 4.0 cm. CONCLUSION: Increasing the frame rate of ultrasound images is helpful to accurately display the enhanced features and vascular morphology of renal tumors, especially for malignant tumors with a maximum diameter of ≤ 4.0 cm. Thus, H-CEUS can make up for the limitation of CEUS with regard to the display of vascular morphology.

Accurate lesion diagnosis through computed tomography (CT) and advances in laparoscopic or robotic surgeries have increased partial nephrectomy survival rates. However, accurately marking the kidney resection area through the laparoscope is a prevalent challenge. Therefore, we fabricated and evaluated a 4D-printed kidney surgical guide (4DP-KSG) for laparoscopic partial nephrectomies based on CT images. The kidney phantom and 4DP-KSG were designed based on CT images from a renal cell carcinoma patient. 4DP-KSG were fabricated using shape-memory polymers. 4DP-KSG was compressed to a 10 mm thickness and restored to simulate laparoscopic port passage. The Bland-Altman evaluation assessed 4DP-KSG shape and marking accuracies before compression and after restoration with three operators. The kidney phantom's shape accuracy was 0.436 ± 0.333 mm, and the 4DP-KSG's shape accuracy was 0.818 ± 0.564 mm before compression and 0.389 ± 0.243 mm after restoration, with no significant differences. The 4DP-KSG marking accuracy was 0.952 ± 0.682 mm before compression and 0.793 ± 0.677 mm after restoration, with no statistical differences between operators (p = 0.899 and 0.992). In conclusion, our 4DP-KSG can be used for laparoscopic partial nephrectomies, providing precise and quantitative kidney tumor marking between operators before compression and after restoration.

BACKGROUND: The gold standard treatment for renal cell carcinoma (RCC) with tumor thrombus (TT) is complete surgical excision. The surgery is complex and challenging to the surgeon, especially with large tumor thrombus extending into the inferior vena cava (IVC) and right atrium. Traditionally, these difficult cases required the use of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) with or without deep hypothermic cardiac arrest, but in recent years, different surgical techniques derived from the field of liver transplantation have been used in efforts to avoid CPB. CASE PRESENTATION: We present a case of RCC with TT level IIIc (extending above major hepatic veins) that "uncoiled" intraoperatively into the right atrium after division of the IVC ligament, transforming into a level IV TT. Despite the new TT extension, the surgery was successfully completed exclusively through an abdominal approach without CPB and while using intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) monitoring and a cardiothoracic team standby. CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the need for a multidisciplinary approach and the utility of intraoperative continous TEE monitoring which helped to visualize the change of the TT venous extension, allowing the surgical teamto modify their surgical approach as needed avoiding a catastrophic event.

Purpose To investigate the prevalence of FLCN, BAP1, SDH, and MET mutations in an oncologic cohort and determine the prevalence, clinical features, and imaging features of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) associated with these mutations. Secondarily, to determine the prevalence of encountered benign renal lesions. Materials and Methods From 25 220 patients with cancer who prospectively underwent germline analysis with a panel of more than 70 cancer-predisposing genes from 2015 to 2021, patients with FLCN, BAP1, SDH, or MET mutations were retrospectively identified. Clinical records were reviewed for patient age, sex, race/ethnicity, and renal cancer diagnosis. If RCC was present, baseline CT and MRI examinations were independently assessed by two radiologists. Summary statistics were used to summarize continuous and categorical variables by mutation. Results A total of 79 of 25 220 (0.31%) patients had a germline mutation: FLCN, 17 of 25 220 (0.07%); BAP1, 22 of 25 220 (0.09%); SDH, 39 of 25 220 (0.15%); and MET, one of 25 220 (0.004%). Of these 79 patients, 18 (23%) were diagnosed with RCC (FLCN, four of 17 [24%]; BAP1, four of 22 [18%]; SDH, nine of 39 [23%]; MET, one of one [100%]). Most hereditary RCCs demonstrated ill-defined margins, central nonenhancing area (cystic or necrotic), heterogeneous enhancement, and various other CT and MR radiologic features, overlapping with the radiologic appearance of nonhereditary RCCs. The prevalence of other benign solid renal lesions (other than complex cysts) in patients was up to 11%. Conclusion FLCN, BAP1, SDH, and MET mutations were present in less than 1% of this oncologic cohort. Within the study sample size limits, imaging findings for hereditary RCC overlapped with those of nonhereditary RCC, and the prevalence of other associated benign solid renal lesions (other than complex cysts) was up to 11%. PURPOSE: Endophytic renal cancer treatment is a challenge. Due to difficulties in endophytic tumor visualization during surgical extirpation, image-guided percutaneous cryoablation (PCA) is an attractive alternative. The minimally invasive nature of PCA makes it favorable for comorbid patients as well as patients in which surgery is contraindicated. Oncological outcomes and complications after PCA of endophytic biopsy-proven renal cell carcinoma (RCC) were reviewed in this study. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Patients were included after a multidisciplinary team conference from January 2015 to November 2021. Inclusion criteria were endophytic biopsy-proven T1 RCC treated with PCA with one year of follow-up. Complications were reported according to the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) classification system and the Clavien-Dindo classification (CDC) system. Major complications were defined as a grade ≥ 3 according to the CDC. RESULTS: Fifty-six patients were included with a total of 56 endophytic tumors treated during 61 PCA sessions. The median RENAL nephrometry score was 9 (IQR 2), and the mean tumor size was 25.7 mm (SD ± 8.9 mm). Mean hospitalization time was 0.39 (SD ± 1.1) days. At a mean follow-up of 996 days (SD ± 559), 86% of tumors were recurrence free after one PCA. No patients progressed to metastatic disease. According to the CIRSE classification, 10.7% (n = 6) had grade 3 complications, and 5.4% (n = 3) had CDC major complications. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates that PCA of endophytic biopsy-proven T1 RCC is safe with few major complications and excellent local tumor control rates at almost three-year mean follow-up. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to analyse the clinical value of computed tomography (CT) scanning parameters combined with serum teratoma-derived growth factor-1 (Cripto-1) in the diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). METHODS: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 256 patients with renal tumour admitted to our hospital from July 2020 to December 2022. They were divided into malignant group (n = 180) and benign group (n = 76) based on the final pathological results. All subjects underwent CT scans and serum Cripto-1 testing. The CT signs and serum Cripto-1 levels of the patients were analysed, and their diagnostic efficacy was evaluated. RESULTS: The pathological diagnosis results showed 180 cases of malignant tumours, including 73 cases of clear cell carcinoma, 60 cases of papillary RCC and 47 cases of chromophobe cell carcinoma as well as 76 cases of benign tumour, including 31 cases of renal angiomyolipoma, 25 cases of eosinophilic tumour and 20 cases of renal fibroma. The malignant group had significantly higher incidence of cystic necrosis, uneven enhancement and rapid progression than the benign group (p < 0.01). The incidence of calcification was not statistically different between the two groups (p > 0.05). The malignant group had lower CT value of focus (p < 0.01) and relative corrected CT value of the renal cortex (p < 0.05), and significantly higher serum levels of Cripto-1 (p < 0.01) than the malignant group. The area under the curve of the combined diagnosis was significantly higher than that of serum Cripto-1 alone and comprehensive diagnosis of CT parameters (pcombined diagnosis vs serum Cripto-1 < 0.001, pcombined diagnosis vs comprehensive diagnosis of CT parameters = 0.002). The sensitivity of the combined diagnosis was also higher than that of serum Cripto-1 and CT parameters alone. CONCLUSIONS: The combination of CT scanning parameters and serum Cripto-1 has high value in the diagnosis of renal tumours, and the area under the curve and sensitivity of the combined diagnosis are high. This work provides reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of renal tumours.

Objective. Laparoscopic renal unit-preserving resection is a routine and effective means of treating renal tumors. Image segmentation is an essential part before tumor resection. The current segmentation method mainly relies on doctors manual delineation, which is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and influenced by their personal experience and ability. And the image quality of segmentation is low, with problems such as blurred edges, unclear size and shape, which are not conducive to clinical diagnosis.Approach. To address these problems, we propose an automated segmentation method, i.e. the UNet++ algorithm fusing multiscale residuals and dual attention (MRDA_UNet++). It replaces two consecutive 3 × 3 convolutions in UNet++ with the 'MultiRes block' module, which incorporates coordinate attention to fuse features from different scales and suppress the impact of background noise. Furthermore, an attention gate is also added at the short connections to enhance the ability of the network to extract features from the target area.Main results. The experimental results show that MRDA_UNet++ achieves 93.18%, 92.87%, 93.66%, and 92.09% on the real-world dataset for MIoU, Dice, Precision, and Recall, respectively. Compared to the baseline model UNet++ on three public datasets, the MIoU, Dice, and Recall metrics improved by 6.00%, 7.90% and 18.09% respectively for BUSI, 0.39%, 0.27% and 1.03% for Dataset C, and 1.37%, 1.75% and 1.30% for DDTI.Significance. The proposed MRDA_UNet++ exhibits obvious advantages in feature extraction, which can not only significantly reduce the workload of doctors, but also further decrease the risk of misdiagnosis. It is of great value to assist doctors diagnosis in the clinic.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the effect of ultrasound-stimulated microbubble cavitation (USMC) on enhancing antiangiogenic therapy in clear cell renal cell carcinoma. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We explored the effects of USMC with different mechanical indices (MIs) on tumor perfusion, 36 786-O tumor-bearing nude mice were randomly assigned into four groups: (i) control group, (ii) USMC0.25 group (MI = 0.25), (iii) USMC1.4 group (MI = 1.4) (iv) US1.4 group (MI = 1.4). Tumor perfusion was assessed by contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) before the USMC treatment and 30 min, 4h and 6h after the USMC treatment, respectively. Then we evaluated vascular normalization(VN) induced by low-MI (0.25) USMC treatment, 12 tumor-bearing nude mice were randomly divided into two groups: (i) control group (ii) USMC0.25 group. USMC treatment was performed, and tumor microvascular imaging and blood perfusion were analyzed by MicroFlow imaging (MFI) and CEUS 30 min after each treatment. In combination therapy, a total of 144 tumor-bearing nude mice were randomly assigned to six groups (n = 24): (i) control group, (ii) USMC1.4 group, (iii) USMC0.25 group, (iv) bevacizumab(BEV) group, (v) USMC1.4 +BEV group, (vi) USMC0.25 +BEV group. BEV was injected on the 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th d after the tumors were inoculated, while USMC treatment was performed 24 h before and after every BEV administration. We examined the effects of the combination therapy through a series of experiments. RESULTS: Tumor blood perfusion enhanced by USMC with low MI (0.25)could last for more than 6h, inducing tumor VN and promoting drug delivery. Compared with other groups, USMC0.25+BEV combination therapy had the strongest inhibition on tumor growth, led to the longest survival time of the mice. CONCLUSION: The optimized USMC is a promising therapeutic approach that can be combined with antiangiogenic therapy to combat tumor progression.
